Children's Social Worker (All Wales Pledge)
Wrexham County Borough Council
Role
Who You Are
You are a compassionate and dedicated individual with a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children. As a social worker, you possess the ability to make sound decisions in the best interest of the child, managing caseloads and intervening in complex situations to secure positive outcomes. You can work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with families, carers, and other professionals to provide continuous support and guidance.
What the Job Involves
The role involves being part of a Family Support Team that manages cases of children subject to CASP, CP, PLO, and those who are looked after. You will manage cases until the initial looked after review, after which they'll transfer to the court team. Your responsibilities include participating in a duty system on a rota basis, responding to safeguarding issues, and supporting allocated workers. You will perform assessments and crisis planning, managing risks to ensure children's safety and welfare. Additionally, you'll develop and apply social work techniques to address the needs of those requiring care and support, ensure plans are evidence-based, and manage a caseload that includes routine and complex social work interventions.
