Who You Are
An experienced social worker with extensive recent experience in safeguarding children, ideally already working as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). You are expected to readily take charge and possess a solid understanding of working with children and managing allegations against individuals in positions of trust.
What the Job Involves
As a LADO, you will play a crucial role in the management and coordination of allegations against people working with children. You'll offer advice and guidance to employers, individuals, and organizations regarding concerns related to adults working with children. This position requires you to ensure timely, fair, and robust handling of allegations while maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and partner agencies.
Skills
- Social work degree, Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Post-qualifying experience in children’s safeguarding
- In-depth knowledge of LADO role, legislation, and guidance
- Risk management expertise
- Experience in multi-agency working
- Ability to scrutinize and challenge effectively
