Who You Are
You are a qualified social worker with a Social Work England registration, possessing post-qualifying experience in statutory social work, particularly in the child protection area. You have a background in working within a multi-disciplinary environment and are confident in making decisions that safeguard and protect young people. You are empathetic, sensitive, and diplomatic, able to address complaints and challenges effectively. An influential negotiator with excellent communication skills, you can convey complex messages clearly. You possess significant experience in statutory services, safeguarding services, and working with regulated services, along with excellent management and leadership capabilities.
What the Job Involves
In your role as a Team Manager within the Family Help Service at Central Bedfordshire Council, you will support a team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners. Your team is responsible for delivering assessment care planning and interventions for families supported under targeted early help, child in need, and child protection pathways. You'll work in collaboration with communities and partners to impact children's lives positively, ensuring they are safe and inspired to achieve. The role involves making day-to-day safeguarding decisions, HR actions, and other necessary tasks. You will receive supervision and support as needed from the Service Manager or Head of Service and collaborate with a motivated management team.
