Who You Are

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and professional, with a strong aptitude for handling sensitive information responsibly. You should be motivated, adaptable, and committed to equal opportunities, while possessing a good literacy level to handle large volumes of information. A background in the public sector is preferred, although not required, and you should be comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders.

What the Job Involves

This role requires you to manage Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information Act (FOI) requests, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. You will process requests, provide access to records, and collaborate with Council services to ensure timely and quality responses. Acting as a point of contact for the public and resolving queries are essential, alongside managing a caseload with stringent deadlines. You will also maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills

  • Experience with SARs and FOI requests
  • Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
  • Case management system proficiency
  • Strong IT skills, especially MS Office
