Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a background in Child Protection (CP) teams. You possess a strong understanding of safeguarding processes, court work, and pre-proceedings protocols such as PLO. Your previous work has equipped you with the ability to effectively manage cases within CP frameworks and collaborate with multi-agency teams. Familiarity with the challenges faced by families dealing with domestic abuse, neglect, mental health, and substance misuse enhances your ability to provide comprehensive support.
What the Job Involves
As a member of the Bassetlaw Family Support and Safeguarding Team (FSST), you will handle referrals starting from the initial Child and Family Assessment to court proceedings. You will be involved in Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) planning, as well as the initial processes for looked after children. The role requires working in a predominantly rural area, addressing complex family situations with a supportive team environment. You will benefit from close collaboration with in-house colleagues from Women's Aid and Change, Grow, Live (CGL). The work schedule is 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Friday, based at the Retford Education Centre, Old Hall Drive, Retford, Notts, DE22 7EA.
