Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with significant mediation and tribunal experience within a SEND team. You are skilled at undertaking appeal work and representing the Local Authority at mediation and tribunal SENDIST hearings. You excel in case preparation, evidence gathering, and handling senior-level casework. You are comfortable with remote working and are available to work 5 days per week.
What the Job Involves
The position requires you to oversee and manage the statutory processes related to education, health, and care plans for pre-16 children and young people with SEND. You will ensure inclusive participation in the EHC assessment process, develop partnerships with families and professionals, and maintain the quality and accuracy of statutory SEND documents. As a manager, you will provide supervision and appraisals for a Locality SEND team, allocate new work, and monitor team performance. You will handle complex assessments and provide professional support to improve educational and life outcomes for children, particularly in Nottinghamshire. Your role includes leading SEND tribunals, mediation, and resolution meetings, aligning educational settings with statutory requirements, and representing the local authority as needed.
