You have proven experience in school attendance, either within a school setting or a local authority. You are passionate about improving student attendance and have the expertise to advise and guide schools on policy development and case advice. You are skilled in leading collaborative efforts to ensure every child's right to education is fulfilled.
What the job involves
This role is designed to implement targeted termly support meetings with schools in response to statutory changes under the Working Together to Improve Attendance guidance. You will lead efforts to enhance attendance across schools in Lewisham, working with local authority colleagues and various agencies. A key responsibility includes analyzing attendance data to develop solution-focused strategies that address persistent and severe absence, helping schools to better support vulnerable pupils and improve overall attendance. This position operates on a term-time only basis.
