What the Job Involves

This role involves delivering the design and construction of new schemes as part of the Journeys and Places Team's initiatives. You will oversee a variety of projects, ensuring their successful execution from the planning phase through final completion. Your responsibilities will encompass inspections, surveys, feasibility and options studies, project management, financial oversight, design, site supervision, and contract management. You will provide expert advice on environmental and civil engineering design, highway maintenance, and asset management, addressing both in-house and external client needs. You will also be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective budgetary control for each.

Skills

• HNC/BSc/BEng in civil engineering or equivalent qualification
• Proven knowledge and experience in urban scheme delivery
• Project management expertise
• Ability to conduct inspections and surveys
• Proficient in design and contract management
• Strong financial and budgetary control skills
• Excellent communication and advisory skills
